Meet the Ministry Team

   David Lamb
 Vicar

David has been in parish ministry since the mid-1980s, first as a lay worker
and reader, and from 1994 as an ordained minister. He has worked in the
Dioceses of Liverpool and Chester mainly in urban parishes, including a
time as a vicar in his hometown of Birkenhead. He became Vicar of St John’s
in April 2012. This is a half-time post, which he combines with academic
work including a role with the Diocese’s Committee for Ministry. He particularly
enjoys teaching New Testament Greek! He is married to Lesley, who is a
scientist based at the National Oceanographic Centre in Liverpool.

David writes,
“My priority is to help St John’s face the future with confidence as a
united and caring church family rooted in Jesus Christ. I am committed
to biblical preaching, pastoral care and building bridges between the
church and the local community of Ashton Hayes and Mouldsworth.
I believe that we have a good ministry team here and I am hopeful
that our church can be a powerful witness to God’s love in action.”
